"That'll be the day" wurde ursprünglich von Buddy Holly und Jerry Allison in den 1950ern geschrieben und aufgenommen. Linda Ronstadt nahm den Song schließlich 1976 für ihr Album "Hasten Down the Wind" auf, mit dem sie einen Grammy Award gewann.
Erwin Jahreis hat den Song für Blasorchester (mit Gesang) bearbeitet.
