This is a stirring and exciting work for beginning band that depicts the story of the famed Knight of the Round Table, Percival, and his quest for the Holy Grail. Depicted by the strong use of temple blocks, one can hear Percival launching forth on his sturdy horse from the outset, and the musical journey depicted from the outset of the work is fascinating. This work also has many musical aspects that bolster and reinforce elements of young players musicality, including a variety of articulations and dynamics, and is a great way to introduce sheet music to players just finishing up method book 1.
