Noten für BlasorchesterThe Duck and The Woodpecker (Ankan och Hackspetten)
Jerker had the idea for this piece one sunny day in the spring of 1996, when he by mistake had strayed into a hunting store. Back on the street he found himself to be the happy owner of a duck call. He soon realized, however, that the repertoire for this expressive instrument is remarkably small. That is why he composed The Duck and the Woodpecker, in which a woodblock is added as part of the soloist?s equipment. In order to make the duck call justice, it should be amplified, whereas the wood block needs no amplification. Some kind of light disguise (a hat, a false moustache etc.) is recommended, since this has proved to have a cheering effect on the listeners.
