Prayer and Jubilation is, in many ways, characteristic of this composer's unique style and sound. Stamp has the ability to transform the most simple hymn into a complete journey for winds and percussion. His harmonic vocabulary and fresh approach to rhythmic writing clearly sets him apart from his contemporaries. The piece begins with a statement of the hymn. Following this prayerful setting of the tune, the remainder of the writing does in fact create an atmosphere of Jubilation.
