'Danse des Sauvages' (Tanz der Wilden) stammt aus der Ballettoper ' Les Indes Galantes'. Rameau war ein bedeutender französischer Komponist (1683–1764). Sein kompositorisches Schaffen ist sehr umfangreich und seine theoretischen Werke bildeten damals die Grundlage der funktionellen Harmonielehre. Der 'Danse des Sauvages' ist sehr beliebt geworden, daher bot es sich an, ihn für Blasorchester zu bearbeiten. Gewiss bekommt er einen Platz im Repertoire vieler Blasorchester.
