Noten für BlasorchesterPrelude from Te Deum
Te Deum is the abbreviated name for the Ambrosian Hymn, one of the oldest and most well-known Christian hymns. Many great composers have used the "Te Deum" text for their own music, among them Handel, Bruckner and Charpentier. The hymn has been played in different contexts as a thanksgiving to God ? for example, for the coronation of kings and emperors, since in earlier times they often ruled by divine right. The first part of the hymn, "Prelude", is also known as the Eurovision broadcasting theme. Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1634?1704) was a French Baroque composer, best known in his own time for vocal church music.
