Noten für BlasorchesterHow I Love the Name of Jesus (Navnet Jesus blekner aldri)
How I love the name of Jesus is a psalm of David Welander. He wrote it on the train home to Lørenskog in January 1923, and completed it out overnight. It was printed in the magazine "Krigsropet" shortly after. In the early days it was sung on several melodies, including What a Friend We Have in Jesus, but it soon became the melody we use today that was the one bound up with this text. The melody is from Zululand and became known in Oslo when a Salvation Army officers, who had been travelling, used it in a series of meetings.
